This Women’s Month, we’re highlighting the women who inspire us to move—not just physically, but in our careers, communities, and everyday lives.

In our "Women That Move You" Q&A series, we’re sitting down with founders, leaders, and change-makers to hear their stories—how they built their careers, navigate wellness, and the women who move them.

Tell us about yourself:
I’m Megan Roup, celebrity trainer, mom of two and founder of The Sculpt Society, a fitness platform that blends sculpt, dance cardio, strength training, and low-impact movement to help women feel strong, empowered, and confident. My mission is to make fitness fun and inclusive while building a supportive community where women can thrive both physically and mentally.

What inspired you to create The Sculpt Society?
The Sculpt Society was born out of my own desire to build a community and program that I felt was missing in the fitness industry! I wanted to combine the best elements of sculpt, dance cardio and functional movements to create a program that was fun, effective and about feeling good in your body. I saw so many women getting caught up in intense, isolating fitness routines, and I wanted to offer something that was more inclusive and approachable.

How do you hope The Sculpt Society empowers women, both physically and mentally?
I envision The Sculpt Society as a platform where women find both physical and mental empowerment. My goal is for them to feel strong and confident. Physical and mentally, it’s about tapping into that inner strength that reminds them of their capabilities and resilience. I want every woman to leave feeling not only empowered in her body but also inspired in her sense of self and what she can achieve.

What’s one lesson you’ve learned through your career that you wish more women knew?
One important lesson I’ve learned is that it’s okay to evolve and pivot. So often, women feel the pressure to have it all figured out, but the beauty of life and your career path is in the growth and adaptation. Don’t be afraid to take risks, fail, and start over again. You are constantly evolving, and that’s something to embrace.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to trust the process and not to be afraid of taking risks. I was often afraid of failure and judgment, but over time, I’ve learned that it’s through those experiences that we grow the most. Be kind to yourself, embrace every phase of your journey, and remember that it’s okay not to have it all figured out right away.

What role does movement play in your personal life beyond just fitness?
Movement is so much more than just physical exercise for me—it’s my form of self-care. Whether it’s a quick morning stretch or a 10 minute workout, moving my body is how I reset, manage stress, and connect with myself. It’s an essential part of my daily routine and keeps me grounded, energized, and focused.

Who is a woman that moves you—someone who has inspired, supported, or shaped your journey?
One woman that moves me is Jane Fonda. I have looked up to Jane Fonda for as long as I can remember. Jane has shown me that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself, make an impact, and live with purpose. Her strength, resilience, and willingness to speak out have shaped how I approach both my career and my responsibility to others. I hope to meet her some day and tell me what an impact she's had on my life. A true icon.
